RESIDENTS OF the Oliver Woods Retirement Community in Owosso visited the Baker College Black History Month Expo on Wednesday, Feb. 14, with the help of Oliver Woods staff member Brandy Quaderer (left) and Kathy Scripter (far right). The group can be seen gathered in front of an exhibit that highlighted cases of police brutality against black individuals throughout American history, which was created by Baker students Michaela Owen, Becca Britton and Bryce Hicks. The students explained that, although police brutality has been an issue throughout America’s history, technological limitations and advances have shaped the narrative surrounding the issue.
