Requirements have changed and applications are now available for 2016 Miss Railroad Days Queen/Attendant. Candidates must be between 15-20 years of age and attend Durand High School, be an alumna or have a Durand mailing address. Press release photos will be taken courtesy of A&R Portraits/Durand. Scholarships will be awarded to the winners at the end of their reign. Each candidate needs to secure a business sponsor who will provide the $50 entry fee.

Candidates must submit a written summary of why they would be a good choice to represent the festival and will be interviewed prior to the crowning ceremony. Judging will be on application, entry essay, interview, poise, presentation, confidence, personality, and clarity of speech. Candidates need to be in business casual attire for the interview and formal wear for the crowning ceremony.

Applications need to be postmarked no later than Feb. 16.

A crowning ceremony for Queen, Attendant, Princess, and Prince will be held at 7 p.m.

March 11 in the grand ballroom of Durand Union Station, 200 Railroad Street in Durand. Railroad Days royalty will represent the 41st annual Railroad Days Festival held May 12-15.
