The Durand Memorial Branch of the Shiawassee District Library will celebrate Railroad Days 2018 with a children’s railroad art display and a used book sale.

The children’s railroad art display includes more than 40 drawings created by students in the Durand elementary schools. The pictures depict a variety of railroad themes connected to Durand, such as trains, the gate tower and Durand Union Station. The artwork will be on display through the end of May.

The Friends of the Library will be holding a used book sale at the library from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 17; from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, May 18; from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 19; and from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 21.

A variety of books will be available for sale, including hardcover, paperbacks, fiction and non-fiction. Books for all ages will be sorted into age groups to make browsing easier.
