AL HEMPSTEAD (left) was honored as the 2015 PerryFest Senior Citizen King during the Thursday, Oct. 1, Perry City Council meeting.

Hempstead has always been willing to serve and help others whenever there is a need. He is a dedicated U.S. Marine who also served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve and U.S. Army Reserve. Hempstead also served numerous years in law enforcement, including as Chief of Police in Leslie, Gagetown and Perry, all in Michigan. He is currently employed as a Security Guard at Aldi’s Warehouse in Webberville.
