The “Book Partners Program” will soon begin at Perry Elementary School. This program is after school, with second graders in need of a little extra practice reading. Volunteer adult mentors are needed to read one-on-one with a student. The materials are self-explanatory and easy to use.

“We meet 3 to 4 p.m. most Tuesdays and Thursdays, October through April,” said Debbie Stewart. “We welcome volunteers for both or either days.

“There will be a training/welcome back session at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, in the Perry Elementary Library. Join us!

“For questions, or if you are unable to attend the welcome meeting, please call Debbie Stewart, (517) 625-7210, or Tammy Richards at (517) 675-6079.”
