MICHIGAN HOUSE REP. Ben Frederick, of Owosso, recently welcomed Perry Mayor James Huguelet (right) to the Michigan State Capitol for the governor’s annual State of the State address. Frederick invited Huguelet to sit alongside him in the House chamber while Gov. Rick Snyder presented his agenda for the year. Frederick, who chairs the House Workforce and Talent Development Committee, said expanding skilled trades opportunities in local schools continues to be a top priority in 2018. “We need to give young people more educational opportunities to help prepare them for the many high-paying careers currently available in the professional trades,” Frederick said.
