THE PERRY MARCHING RAMBLERS, under the direction of Garret Ernst, prepared for the 2017 season with a week of hard work at band camp at the Kettunen Center in Tustin, MI at the beginning of August. This year’s show features the music of The Beatles, including the popular hits “Yesterday,” “Blackbird,” “Eleanor Rigby,” “Magical Mystery Tour,” “Lady Madonna,” and “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.” Senior Drum Major Trent Ivey and junior Drum Major Grace Knickerbocker will lead the 111-member band on the field this year.
The Marching Ramblers made their first appearance of the season at Perry’s varsity football game on Friday, Aug. 25. Upcoming performances include home football games on Aug. 31, Sept. 29, Oct. 6, and Oct. 13; the PerryFest Parade on Saturday, Sept. 16; MSBOA District V Marching Festival in Owosso on Monday, Oct. 9; and the fan-favorite Pops Concert on Tuesday, Oct. 24 in the high school auditorium.
Perry Band students are selling cookie dough and popcorn through Monday, Sept. 18. Anyone interested in placing an order is asked to please contact your favorite band student or call the band office at (517) 625-0051.
