TWO CRITICALLY INJURED – Two 21-year-old men were critically injured in a house fire reported about 2:41 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, said Owosso Public Safety Director Kevin Lenkart. A passerby reported the fire in the house at the northeast corner of Shiawassee (M-52) and Genesee streets.“Responding personnel discovered substantial fire on the outside of the residence,” he said in a news release. “The first arriving officers were able to locate three occupants inside the home and remove them from the burning structure.
“Two of the occupants were transported to Memorial Hospital in Owosso in critical condition with smoke and burns. The two occupants were later transferred to Hurley Hospital, one by air ambulance for further treatment of their injuries. The third resident was not injured in the fire.
“The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Owosso Public Safety was assisted by Corunna-Caledonia Fire Department.”
