THE OWOSSO HIGH SCHOOL (OHS) Career and Technical Education (CTE) program is raffling off a 2018 Crest 1 220SLC pontoon with a 60-horsepower Mercury engine, which was donated by Crest Marine, of Owosso, to help the Owosso CTE program to purchase equipment and other program materials. Tickets for the raffle are $50 apiece, and the winning ticket will be drawn during the OHS Board of Education meeting that begins at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 14. The pontoon has an overall length of 23 feet and five inches, and a deck length of 21 feet and three inches.

Owosso High School offers nine CTE options for students to choose from, including Agriculture Science, Business Management, Construction Trades, Culinary Arts, Engineering, Education, Family and Consumer Sciences, Finance and Woodworking.

In addition to hands-on lessons taught at the high school, CTE students often receive access to real-world, in-the-field experiences with guided, behind-the-scenes tours of local CTE-related businesses. And recently, approximately 25 Owosso CTE students participated in a robotics workshop hosted by Baker College of Owosso.

The students have been selling raffle tickets throughout the community as the raffle approaches, but anyone who has not had the opportunity to purchase a raffle ticket can still do so by contacting Owosso CTE instructor Nick Krueger at (989) 729-5519 or (517) 605-9510. Tickets can also be purchased in the main office at OHS.
