Owosso Free Methodist Church will share its Christmas music presentation Sunday, Dec. 11, at 10:45 a.m. A “Christmas Carol” is vocal music whose lyrics center on the theme of Christmas or the Christmas season, dating back to the 12th and 13th centuries. “Celebrating Our Christmas Carols” will give fresh insights on a number of Christmas carols and how they became part of our Christmas tradition.

Worship leader Lynn Webster noted that, “Christmas carols have become an important, treasured part of our church music heritage. Many of them specifically relate to vignettes of the biblical story of the birth of Jesus Christ, such as the angels appearing to the shepherds, the location where Christ was born, and the visit of the Magi.”

Participating will be the Children’s Choir, the Children’s Bell Choir, the Ladies’ Ensemble, and soloist Cindy Horak, in addition to singing by the congregation. The program will be narrated by Tammy Pirochta and Pat Cross.

The church is located at 1249 N. Chipman St., in Owosso. The public is welcome.
