The St. John’s UCC will be holding a support group meeting on Sunday, Nov. 6 beginning at 2 p.m. with a 3:30 p.m. presentation at the church at 429 N. Washington St., in Owosso. The confidential monthly meetings offer support, education and advocacy for the LGBTQ community, their families, friends, and allies.
The speaker for November is Stephanie White, the Executive Director for Equality Michigan and Equality Michigan Action Network. White first moved to Michigan in 2002 when she served as the Campaign Manager for the Ypsilanti Campaign for Equality and subsequently worked for the Michigan Environmental Council. She then spent six years in Washington DC working on federal policy issues, including serving as the Managing Director for the National Center for Transgender Equality (NCTE).
