Area high School students (grades 9 through 12), are invited to participate in an oratory contest sponsored by Shiawassee County Right to Life. The contest will be held Tuesday, March 28 at 7 p.m. Students will meet at the Fraternal Order of Police, 201 S. Chestnut St., in Owosso. Parents and friends are invited.

Students may research, write, and speak on one of the following subjects: abortion, euthanasia, infanticide, embryonic stem cell research/human cloning. The speech must be five to seven minutes in length, and show understanding of current events related to the subject matter. Other specific rules can be obtained at the Michigan Right to Life Oratory Contest website at www.rtl.org or by emailing the coordinator Dennis Hrcka at rtlofshia@gmail.com for an application.

The deadline for the speech is March 25 and the application should be signed by a parent and mailed by the deadline to: Shiawassee RTL,

The contest is open to public attendance and light refreshment will be available.
