OPENING CEREMONIES at the Shiawassee County Fair include a special flag raising event at 8 a.m. on Sunday morning. Blue skies and plenty of warm sunshine brought out many local VFW representatives and Owosso Mayor Ben Frederick to officially open the 2016 county fair.
The event is an annual one as a 4-H club member sings the National Anthem with also a moment for prayer. This year’s prayer was given by Irene Hoskings. (Independent Photos/Elizabeth Wehman)
