NEWLY ELECTED to three-year terms on the Curwood Festival Board during the Festival’s Full Council meeting Wednesday evening at City Hall were (from left); Jestin Rubelman for his first term; Tiffany (Smith) Huff for her second term; and Brian Reed for his second term.

Rubelman has been involved with the Festival for 15 years, having started volunteering for the Heritage Parade when he was 12 years old. He is chairman of the Heritage Parade. His great-great uncle, Louis Rubelman, 1899-1971, was Owosso’s last mayor for eight years under the previous form of government, which ended in 1964. The flag which was presented posthumously to his family is in a special display at Council Chambers in City Hall.

Huff has been involved with the Festival since 2000, volunteering on several Mr. Owosso campaigns and working with several committees as well as being the Board’s secretary the past two years. She was later elected to a new one-year term as secretary.

Reed has been involved with a number of Festival committees and just served as Vice President. He was later elected Festival President when the board met after the Full Council’s meeting. (Independent Photo/BILL CONSTINE)
