THE UNITED WAY OF GENESEE COUNTY (serving Shiawassee County) along with the Salvation Army Owosso Citadel, teamed together to provide a warming center for adult men/women for the next two months. In this photo from Wednesday, Jan. 31, warming center coordinator Shelly Ochodnicky and Lieutenant Jonathan Tamayo of the Salvation Army stood before a number of clean sleeping bags in the basement located at 302 E. Exchange St., Owosso.
Hours of operation are 8 p.m. through 7 a.m. daily until Saturday, March 31.
Volunteers are needed. If interested, please call Ochodnicky at (989) 277-0769. The warming shelter is also seeking out donations of boxed games, DVDs, and adult coloring books and colored pencils/crayons.
