The Shiawassee Council on Aging: Morrice Senior Center is hosting the following activities and events for the first part month of October.
On Monday Oct. 9, from 3 to 4 p.m., Tech Support returns with the help of the Morrice Honor Society. On Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 12:30 p.m. there will be a presentation by the State Bar of Michigan regarding “Who should you trust.”
On Friday, Oct. 13, Michigan Hearing will offer hearing checks from 10 a.m. to noon. This service is free and based on a first come, first served basis.
On Monday, Oct. 16, free blood pressure checks will be offered by Rite @ Home from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
Starting Wednesday, Oct. 11 and continuing every Wednesday in October, the center will offer Nintendo Wii bowling at 11 a.m. The center hosts bingo every Monday following lunch. The euchre group continues to meet every Monday and Thursday 1:30 p.m., and Pedro is played on the second Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m. Exercise class is held every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30 a.m. In addition, the center will host an Alzheimer’s Support Group on Monday, Oct. 9 at noon, and a Diabetic Support Group on Friday, Oct. 13 at 1 p.m.
Lunch is served at noon every Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Interested persons are asked to call the center at (517) 625-4270 or stop by the day prior to make a reservation.
The center is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday, Friday; and from 9 to 11 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. For further information, persons are encouraged to call the center or stop by at 101 W. Mason St. in Morrice.
