THE 2016 MORRICE HOMECOMING FESTIVAL was held on the weekend of June 25 and 26. The event, held every last weekend of June, brings out many of the locals and their neighbors to enjoy not only a circus, but children’s games, a tractor pull, rummage sales, a bike decorating contest and shown here, the annual parade.

This year’s Grand Marshal was Helen Ehl who is a long-time community member and also past school secretary. If you’ve ever been a child in the school system, you’ve been in contact with Ehl. Crowned this year’s Morrice Homecoming Festival Queen was Amanda Miller, daughter of Devin and Dan Miller.

Heading up the parade was Village President Bob Dickerson eager to hand out candy on the route. The day is not only filled with fun, community events, but also is finalized with one of the most spectacular firework displays in Shiawassee County. (Independent Photos/Elizabeth Wehman)
