The Mission Award was established in 1998 to recognize an individual or organization that has assisted the staff in meeting the mission of the Shiawassee Regional Chamber of Commerce (SRCC). The staff nominates an individual who demonstrates a strong commitment to the chamber and gives generously of their time and talent. The 2018 Mission Award recipient is Tracy Bublitz of Owosso. Tracy is a staff accountant at Andrews Hooper Pavlik PLC (AHP PLC) in downtown Owosso.
Bublitz was selected to receive the award based on the effort she contributed to Oktoberfest 2017. Chamber President/CEO Jeff Deason stated, “Last summer, Tracy asked if we needed assistance with the new Oktoberfest concession area, as she had experience owning and operating her own commercial concession trailer. We were delighted that she joined the planning committee and ultimately, made the concession stand successful at this year’s event.” Bublitz contributed well over 40 hours of her personal time to ensure the Oktoberfest concessions was organized, up to health department code and ran efficiently. She greatly assisted the chamber staff with her knowledge of the food service industry.
Bublitz grew up in Shiawassee County and was a state of Michigan sales tax auditor prior to joining the staff of AHP PLC. She has been with AHP for over ten years and currently works in their tax department. She is a graduate of Baker College of Owosso.
The Mission Award will be formally presented at the Shiawassee Regional Chamber of Commerce 2018 Annual Dinner and Awards Night on Thursday, Jan. 25.
