Mike and Jami Meyer, owners of electrical contracting business Meyer Electric, are proud to announce they have recently acquired the 26,000-square-foot, former Mitchell Corporation building located at 108 N. Chipman St. in Owosso, and will be relocating and expanding their operations to the new facility.

The company, which currently has 10 employees and serves customers throughout the state of Michigan, is growing quickly and the new space will allow them to house their corporate offices and offer more room for materials, equipment and vehicle storage.

“We are really excited to make Owosso our new long-term home, and think this property really fits our needs, both now and into the future,” said company president/owner Mike Meyer. “There will be plenty of office space available, and we will be looking to lease some space to other local entrepreneurs. We also want to say thank you to everyone that was helpful in making this project happen, including Randy Woodworth and Rich Harsh at Woodworth Commercial, attorney Bill Brown, Mike Selleck at Selleck Real Estate, Cheryl Peterson at the Small Business Development Center, and Justin Horvath and Brent Jones at the Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership.”

“We welcome Meyer Electric and we celebrate the successful re-purposing of yet another formerly vacant building in our city,” said Owosso Mayor Ben Frederick. “I have come to know the Meyers as active community members in Chesaning and am looking forward to the positive impact their business and the skilled tradesmen they employ will have within Owosso.”

“We have been honored to work with Mike and Jami in their efforts to find a new location in the area, and think they have found an excellent spot. They are great people with a great team, and I expect they will continue to grow here for many years to come,” said Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership President/CEO Justin Horvath.
