Youth Market Goat Animals to be shown at the 2017 Shiawassee County Fair in August must be owned by the exhibitor, and be in the exhibitor’s possession by May 1. All market goats must be tagged, weighed, and identified at the beginning of the project year at the Shiawassee Fairgrounds by the Goat Superintendents to be eligible to show in the Market Class and sell in the Small Animal Auction.

Market goat tagging will be held on Saturday, May 13 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Small Animal Arena. The Fairgrounds is located at 2900 E. Hibbard Rd., Corunna.

All market goats must be tagged on this date. No exceptions. Goats must have a ‘scrapie tag’ in their ear. Exhibitors must also bring one of the following. If the goat is from your own farm, you must bring your farm premise number letter to verify the ‘scrapie tag’, or if your goat is purchased, you must bring a completed and signed owners statement transfer of ownership paper.
