The 46th annual Lennon Lions Homecoming will be Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21, starting with a parade through downtown Lennon at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 20. Parade line-up will begin at 10 a.m. at the old Doyle Knight School on N. Oak Street, and parade participants are still welcome. Persons interested in participating in the parade can call Lennon Lions President Carl Sahlke at (810) 919-3861 or simply show up at the school for line-up.

   Following the parade, the party will move to Lennon Lions Park, at 100 Mack. Ct., where events are scheduled throughout Saturday and Sunday. Starting at noon on July 20 will be the 46th annual antique tractor pull, which will include the playing of the national anthem and a flag-raising, a kiddie tractor pull by the Michigan Pedal Pullers, a water slide and a kids coin scramble provided by the Venice Township Fire Department, a pie eating contest sponsored by the Lennon Café, face painting and a bounce house provided by the Lennon Wesleyan Church, bingo under the pavilion provided by the Lennon Lions and a horseshoe tournament sponsored by the Venice Township Fire Department.

   The day’s festivities will conclude with a performance by Paving Allision, which will provide music and dancing for all ages from 7:30 to 11 p.m.

   Sunday will begin with the annual Venice Township Fire Department Pancake Breakfast at 8 a.m., followed by the Lennon Lions Classic Car Show at 9 a.m. The Lennon Lions Chicken BBQ will begin at noon and will include a bounce house provided by the Lennon Wesleyan Church and Bingo Under the Pavilion provided by the Lennon Lions.

   Additionally, the Lennon Lions Raffle drawing will take place at 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, for a Cub Cadet zero-turn lawn mower. Tickets are still available for purchase at Alderman’s, Baker Insurance, Bowden Body Shop and the Lennon Café, and ticket-holders need not be present on July 21 to win.
