The Lennon Lions will host the 44th annual village of Lennon Homecoming celebration on Saturday, July 15 and Sunday, July 16. The weekend-long celebration will begin on July 15 with a parade that will step off from the elementary school on Oak St. at 11 a.m., with the party then moving to Lennon Lions Community Park on Mack St. for fun and games for the people of all ages.

The day’s festivities will include face painting, bouncy balls, a pie-eating contest. an antique tractor pull, a kiddy tractor pull, and a tribute to all first responders, with many emergency vehicles available for exploration. From noon to 5 p.m. on both days, the Lennon Lions Club will offer Kids Sight screenings, where children can have their eyes examined for injuries or disease. Additionally, the North Newburg Masonic Lodge will sponsor Child IDs from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The festivities will continue into the evening, with music and dancing in the park from 9 p.m. until midnight. Local rock-and-roll band, the B Sides, will perform.

On Sunday, July 16, the day will begin with a pancake breakfast at the Lennon Lions Community Park, which will be hosted by the Venice Township Fire Department. There will then be a barbecue chicken dinner at the park, hosted by the Lennon Lions, beginning at noon. There will also be a car show from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the softball field in the park, with awards being handed out at the conclusion of the event. The drawing for the Cub Cadet lawn mower will be done at 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 16. Tickets can be purchased for $10 from any Lennon Lions member.
