BOB AND FREIDA ROSSER of Linden are the winners of this year’s Lennon Lion Homecoming Tractor Raffle. The couple decided to take the cash instead of the Cub Cadet zero-turn lawnmower that was raffled because they recently purchased a Cub Cadet mower after retiring the Sears, Roebuck & Company mower they purchased in 1957.

Alderman’s President Tim Alderman, Lennon Lions President Carl Sahlke, and Lennon Lions Treasurer Bob Sturgis presented Bob and Freida with a $3,500 check at Alderman’s in Lennon on Wednesday, July 19. Alderman’s and the Lennon Lions partner annually to offer a tractor for the raffle, and Alderman’s also donates the use of a trailer.

The Rossers were longtime Durand residents before moving to Linden. Their son, Greg, who now lives in Tennessee, purchased the winning ticket for his parents from Riverside Market in Durand while visiting for a week earlier this summer. Freida says they will be sending Greg a portion of the winnings, and the couple made a donation to the Lennon Lions Club as well.

The winning ticket was No. 1289. The four $100 winners were J. Olson, with ticket No. 1244; G. Nemeth, with ticket No. 0182; L. Albright, with ticket No. 0913; and J. Powell, with ticket No. 1008.
