KENNEDY AUTO REPAIR opened Monday, Feb. 1 at 2181 E. M-21, Owosso. The shop had been located in Chesaning since 2008, but owners Matt and Amanda Kennedy moved the shop to Owosso in October. They are Corunna residents and have two girls in the Corunna School district, so the move made sense.

We never felt like we were a part of the Chesaning community,” Matt said Wednesday. “We were kind of outsiders in a small town, but Owosso is our home and we feel much more comfortable here. My wife and I are both Corunna graduates, so it is nice to be home again.”

Kennedy Auto Repair offers a wide range of repair services, but Matt has been known as a specialist in electrical diagnostics. He is master state-certified mechanic, and he received his associate’s degree from the University of Northern Ohio with a focus in high performance motor sports.

The Kennedy’s will strive to offer a “clean, family-friendly environment,” where they will offer “fast, honest service.” They are looking to hire at least one employee, with more needed as the business grows. They are currently open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. (Independent Photo/Graham Sturgeon)
