At approximately 8:38 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office detectives were dispatched to the Shiawassee County Jail to assist a 32-year-old female inmate who was not breathing and unresponsive. The female was identified as Sarah Ann Yerian. Immediate efforts to revive her were performed by jail personnel. Corunna Area Ambulance responded to the jail a short time later, but all efforts to revive her were unsuccessful and she was subsequently pronounced dead.
An autopsy will be conducted. This matter is currently under investigation by the Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office detectives.
