Corunna’s Parmenter Road Industrial Park development took another step forward at the Sept. 21 City Council meeting. It is a small step but one that eventually could result in an industry growing and flourishing on the site.

A letter of agreement for professional services was signed between the city and the Olsson Associates, Inc. of Omaha, Neb. for Olsson to do a feasibility/marketing study of the Parmenter Road site.

The study will take a thorough look at the industrial site to determine what types of industry the site is capable of supporting. Zoning, land elevations, utilities and other existing conditions will be studied.

The cost to the city is $20,000 with an additional $20,000 coming from the Shiawassee Economic Development Partnership.

Conceptual drawings and site plan(s) will be developed and presented at an upcoming council meeting.
