In Memory of Bill Constine

A BLACK ribbon was placed on the Independent placeholder at the Tuesday, Jan. 19 Owosso City Council meeting, recognizing the absence of the Independent’s long-time editor, Bill Constine, who passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 11. Mayor Ben Frederick spoke before the opening prayer noting Constine’s decades long service to the community and dedication to the truth. The wooden chair, specifically brought in to council chambers years ago for Constine’s use at meetings, remained empty during the meeting. (Independent photo/JANAE FEAR)
