On August 26 at 1:21 a.m., Owosso Police Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Corunna Ave., on a report that an unknown suspect, wearing a ski mask, was trying to break into a shed. An alert resident saw the suspect trying to break into a shed in the rear of their yard. The resident ran outside and confronted the suspect who fled on foot. The resident chased after the suspect catching him a short distance away from the house.

The suspect swung a large pipe at the resident striking him in the arm that resulted in a minor injury to the resident. During the ensuing struggle, the resident was able to pull the ski mask off the suspect before the suspect ran away. After pulling off the ski mask, the resident recognized the suspect from the neighborhood.

Officers arrived and contacted the suspect Daniel Forsythe at his nearby residence. Forsythe was arrested for Felonious Assault, Attempted Breaking and Entering and Possession of Burglary Tools and lodged at the Shiawassee County Jail. Forsythe is a 17-year-old resident of Owosso.
