Dr. Dave Draggoo of Looking Glass Community Outreach in Laingsburg has announced that a group of nonprofit organizations is teaming up to raise money for a Perry-area family that is in danger of losing their home following a tragic, work-related incident that took place nearly a year ago. The incident resulted in the father suffering a closed-head injury that required the insertion of two metal plates in his skull. The man and his four teenage children have lost their vehicle and are in danger of being evicted from their home. The man’s former employer, though acknowledging fault in the incident in question, is fighting the worker’s compensation claim, which has left the family in a tight spot.

Looking Glass Community Outreach, the United Methodist Church of Perry, the United Methodist Church of Shaftsburg and the St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Parrish of Morrice have partnered to raise money for the family, and funds are now being collected by way of a GoFundMe account that is being managed by Looking Glass Community Outreach.

The funds are being raised to help the family pay for rent and utilities while they await the result of the worker’s comp claim that is being disputed in court. To contribute to the cause, individuals can visit www.gofundme.com/help-save-jp-s-home.
