HEART OF MICHIGAN ANTIQUE Tractor Club (HMATC) members Jeff Ash, John Bristley, Claude Benjamin, Ron Force, and Kris Morse volunteered their time and the use of their antique tractors for the Steam Railroading Institute’s Curwood Highlander event on Saturday, Oct. 28. The Pere Marquette 1225 brought approximately 350 people from Alma to Owosso for a day of shopping and sight-seeing, and the HMATC members were their chauffeurs, pulling visitors throughout historic downtown Owosso in covered trailers.
Ash can be seen, from atop his 1954 John Deere tractor, leading the conveyance convoy as it departed from the Steam Railroading Institute early Saturday afternoon. The HMATC is comprised of more than 180 members from all over Michigan and as far west as Nebraska and Wyoming.
