The public is invited to a ‘farm to table’ Harvest Dinner at Curwood Castle Park on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 5 p.m. The Shiawassee Arts Center is partnering with the Owosso Public School’s Culinary Art Department and Food Services for this special event. The five-course meal offered will feature locally sourced and prepared creative dishes.

Paired with live music by Pooh Stevenson and Jim Spring, the setting along the Shiawassee River could make for a perfect evening. According to SAC Executive Director Piper Brewer, this is the first time an event such as this has been offered to the community. “This event will showcase so many of our county’s wonderful assets such as farmers, growers, schools, and students. If this Harvest Dinner is a success, we hope to make it an annual community event.”

A portion of the proceeds of the $35 per person ticket will benefit the Owosso Cares Food Backpack Program which supplies food to nearly 200 preschool to high school students twice a month. To make reservations by Sept. 5, interested persons may call the Arts Center at (989) 723-8354. In case of inclement weather, the dinner will be held the following Sunday, Sept. 18 at 5 p.m.
