CORUNNA SENIOR Hannah Hollister signed her commitment to play softball at Grand Valley State University on Wednesday, Dec. 4 in a ceremony held in the Corunna High School (CHS) media center.
Hollister is an exemplary student, with a 4.1 GPA in addition to all her athletic exploits. She has received instruction at Beker College’s Health Science Academy, and her senior schedule has included such classes as AP psychology, marketing, advanced physics, advanced chemistry, AP world history and AP statistics. Hannah is also a member of student council and the National Honor Society. She plans to obtain a doctoral degree in physical therapy at Grand Valley.
Hannah has competed in volleyball, basketball, softball and track and field during her time at CHS, serving as captain in each of those four sports. In volleyball, Hannah is a second-team all-conference player and a two-time conference champion, district champion and regional champion.
In basketball, Hannah played on teams that captured the conference championship, as well as three district championships.
In track and field, Hannah holds school records in the 200-meter, 300-meter hurdles, 100-meter hurdles and the 4-by-100-meter relay. She has been named to eight all-conference first teams, two all-conference second teams, and she is an eight-time regional champion and a seven-time state champion, among other individual and team accomplishments.
In softball, Hannah has the highest batting average in school history, she has received first-team and second-team all-conference recognition, and she has been named to the all-district team twice.
