Capital Area Community Services, Inc. is taking applications for the Commodity Supplemental Food Program which provides nutritious food, on a monthly basis to low-income residents of Shiawassee County who are 60 years of age or above.
Persons sixty years of age or older (130 percent Federal Poverty Guidelines) may be eligible. To qualify, individuals must live in Shiawassee County and meet program guidelines.
For a family size of 1, 130 percent of the FPG is a maximum annual income of $15,301; for a family size of two, it is $20,709; for a family size of three, it is $26,117; for each additional family member, add $5,408 to the maximum annual income.
Distribution will begin Sept. 8 at: Perry City Hall, 203 W. Polly in, Perry, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.; then at the Durand Eagles Club, 5230 S. New Lothrop Road, Durand, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Starting Sept. 9 through 18, the food will be distributed at Capital Area Community Services, 1845 Corunna Avenue (M-71), between Owosso and Corunna, 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. on business days. For any questions, persons may call (989) 723-3115.
