Fall Color in Shiawassee
PEAK FALL COLOR is late to arrive in Shiawassee County this year, but for those that don’t want to miss it, www.foliagenetwork.com and www.michigan.org/fall offer credible area updates. Regardless of peak color or not, the region following the Shiawassee River offered numerous scenic opportunities, especially on Saturday, Oct. 15 as seen at DeVries Nature Conservancy on M-52 just north of Owosso.
Saturday, Oct. 22 from 1 to 4 p.m., DeVries will be open to area people for horse drawn wagon rides. A bonfire, s’mores, caramel apple dipping, and a scavanger hunt are all on the agenda for this event. A large assortment of various sizes of pumpkins are currently for sale, too.
