The Michigan State Board of Education has approved criteria to establish a singleIncome Eligibility Guideline for The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP).Michigan’s new income guideline for all TEFAP households is now 200 percent of theHealth and Human Services guidelines. The new income guidelines took effect March11, 2014.
Based on 200 percent of Federal Poverty Income Guidelines (FPIG): household size ofone, maximum annual income $23,340; two, $31,460; three, $39580; for each additionalfamily member, add $8,120.The food pick up in Shiawassee County will be: 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, atPerry City Hall, 203 W. Polly Street; 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Durand Eagles Club,5230 S. New Lothrop Road, Durand. From March 3 through 13, pick-up will be at CapitalArea Community Services, Inc. 1845 Corunna Avenue (M-71), Owosso, 9 a.m. to noonand 1 to 4 p.m.“With the new funding year, everyone must recertify, if you have not, please contactCapital Area Community Services, Inc., (989) 723-3115,” it was emphasized. “ CapitalArea Community Services is an equal opportunity provider.”
