Special thank you to paramedics Brian Mathies, Kasie, Todd, Rick, Layne, and LT. On Dec. 13 they responded to a 911 call at Greg and Lou’s, when my dad Max Raatz choked, and become unresponsive and his heart stopped. Paramedics performed CPR and intubated and transferred him to Sparrow where he was seen by Specialist Ear Nose Throat physician. They were amazed that even he would of had a very difficult time or possibly could not intubate Max due to a huge throat tumor.
Max made decisions for no treatment and he came home where Memorial Healthcare Hospice made it possible for family to care for him comfortably. Many friends stopped by and Max would give his famous “Man Hand” shake.
Thanks to these local heroes who make our community a better place.
