Independent Editor,
“Return Government to We the People.” It has been brought to light that corruption exists in all levels of our government. Now, we the people have an opportunity to remove elected officials or prevent those motivated by career advancement in politics, power, and/or greed.
Here in Shiawassee County we have several contentions for County Commissioners and two contenders for County Clerk in the Primary Election to be held next Tuesday, Aug. 2. As many know, Margaret McAvoy was the root of corruption in this county, but she has since resigned and moved on to Isabella County to continue in her tyrannical reign of threats and corruption. However, Margaret trained others to follow in her footsteps. Lauri Braid has been complacent in her duties to the People, as she makes her own rules to reflect favor upon herself and her friends. Anyone aligning themselves with the likes of Lauri Braid should not be considered, as they too have drank too much of the proverbial Kool-Aid that has made much of our government corruption. If we are to choose appropriate candidates for each of the offices, constitutionally-minded individuals not seeking careers in politics should be the voting public’s choice. They are as follows: Anthony Karhoff, Caroline Wilson, Mike Bruff, Mark Coscarelli, Jeremy Root, and Gary Holzhausen.  Remember, new law signed into effect in Dec. 2015 here in Michigan gives us the right to vote either way in the Primary Election for any candidates regardless of partisanship. Vote your conscience.
