Next Tuesday, March 8, a ballot initiative will be brought to a vote to increase 911 support for Shiawassee County Residents. I would advocate in support of this initiative, as it will give greater assistance to the people of Shiawassee County. Response time for emergency needs will be affected to a benefit of residents with texting and video capabilities. The 911 surcharge would be increased to $2.65. Keep in mind that this money would not be allotted to general fund for the County Commissioners to do with as they please; it will only be utilized by Shiawassee County Central Dispatch to make necessary upgrades to increase service to the public in need of emergency services. These upgrades will be mandated by the State of Michigan. Please, consider voting yes on 911.
I would also ask that you thoroughly educate yourself on candidates to be voted upon in the Presidential Primary. We truly need someone who will be a great leader of the People.
