Independent Editor,

The second annual “Lakes Golf Scramble” was held on Saturday, June 29 at Pine Hills Golf Course in Laingsburg. Twenty-six local area businesses sponsored holes for the event that matched Scenic Lake versus Lake Victoria. We are greatly appreciative of all the local small business owners who provided signs, time and resources to this fun-filled golf outing, and we are looking forward to growing this golf outing for years to come.

We would like to thank the following businesses: Pine Hills Golf Course for providing 1st and 2nd-place team prizes; and Jeremy Peters  and the Scenic Lake Properties Association for providing prizes for longest drive, putt and closest to the hole, including the 1st-place team traveling trophy. These prizes were purchased at Pine Hills Golf Course, Pro Shop.

We would also like to thank Gaffner Recovery and Restoration, Owosso; Joes Body Shop, Perry; Johnny V’s Smoke Shack, Perry; Cafe’ Sports, Perry; Hungry Howies, Perry; Dairy Den, Laingsburg; Subway (three sponsorship holes), Laingsburg; Choice Reality (two sponsorship holes), Laingsburg; Central Pharmacy, Laingsburg; Twilligers Tavern, Laingsburg; and Tammy’s Bakery and Cafe’, Laingsburg.

As well as PDP’s Pizzeria, Laingsburg; Leonard’s Hardware, Laingsburg; McCardle Restoration, E. Lansing; Rick Carr Builders, Laingsburg; One Call Restoration, Laingsburg; Saige Market, Laingsburg; Bondock’s, Laingsburg; Coldwell Banker, Lansing; and Shaheen Chevrolet, Lansing.
