A heart felt thank you goes out to the Morrice Jr/Sr High School students for all their hard work around the village of Morrice. A total of 95 children and three adults were involved over the course of the three-day cleanup. Kari Brown, along with Mr. Baker (both teachers at Morrice) organized this event. At the park they raked grass, trimmed trees, and edged the sidewalk. They also painted the benches and picnic tables. At the Morrice Village Hall they cleaned up around the building, which included raking leaves and pulling weeds. The Morrice Methodist Church was also weeded, and they edged some of Main Street. At the Morrice Senior Center, the outside benches received a coat of paint. The inside of the baseball dugouts at Morrice High School received a fresh coat of paint, and they also did work on the new sculpture garden they are creating at the secondary building. Kari Brown stated “We think it is important to give back to the community and build bonds through service.” They are planning another event in the fall. Here’s to a job well done!
