It is with great appreciation that we write to members of Owosso and surrounding communities for the outpouring of support for the Jan Beutel for Ice Queen 2016 Campaign. We were able to raise $10,075.67 of which $9,068.10 went directly to the Arc Shiawassee in support of their advocacy and support programs to children, teens, and adults throughout Shiawassee County that have cognitive, neurological, and physical disabilities. The remaining $1,007.57 was donated to the Glow Owosso Committee to assist in the overall cost of providing the annual events in Owosso.
We would not have been able to exceed our goal of $10,000 without the generous support of our t-shirt sponsors, terrific business in-kind sponsors and the following events: Ice Queen Kick Off at Niche; The Royal Table at the Downtown Owosso Farmers Market; Trivia at The Knights of Columbus; WIG Wine & Appetizer Event; Euchre Tournament at the Dog & Gun Club; Bob Evans, Jan Beutel for Ice Queen Day; Ice Queen night at Jumbos with Jenny Habor; Painting Party with Artfully You; Mexican Dinner at St. Paul’s Church; Arc/CPS Lunches; Friendship Tea at Abiding In The Vine; Wreath Making with Becky Harris-Dillon; LuLa Roo Party; and the Ice Queen Crowning. The list of attendees and volunteers is too lengthy to include but we appreciated having each and every one of you there.
We do want to express a special thank you to the family and friends of the Beutel and Balko families and the Arc Shiawassee staff and board. Our efforts could not have been promoted without the amazing support that we received from all of them. Our t-shirt and general donation sponsors included: Three Snowflake Sponsors ($500) – Dr. Ayaz and Mrs. Laura Jafri; Cook Family Foundation; Zonta Club of Owosso. Two Snowflake Sponsors ($250) – Patrick & Laura Marutiak; The Arc Shiawassee Bingo. One Snowflake Sponsors ($100) – CLH Insurance Agency; Balko, Abrams, & Breining; Lamphere Plumbing and Heating; Say Computer; Chemical Bank; Looks Unlimited, Stewart Street Auto Service; American Speedy Printing.
We had many other monetary donations, t-shirt sales, pop can donations, quilt ticket sales, and donations to our silent auction that we are so thankful for. If we missed anyone we apologize, but want to thank you for contributing.
Even though Jan did not win this year, we are proud of the positive campaign that we had and our ability to include youth and families in some of the events. Thank you, again, for such a supportive community that enabled us to raise $10,075.67.
