For at least the past three years, I have journeyed once a week to get a blood test. In those three years, my wife and I have always been greeted by the loveliest group of volunteers. That always had a smile and a cheerful word, and they were always attentive to see that we knew where we needed to go. Likewise, there was always one or two of them who offered a cheerful “Goodbye” or “See you next week.” All of a sudden there was a change, and now there are no more hospital volunteers at the front desk. I understand there is a paid employee there. I have nothing against this individual, but in my humble opinion, they cannot come up to the standard of the volunteers. I am not related to or paid by the volunteers. I was just a recipient of good, friendly service. Oh, for the good old days.
