Helen Roberts, Corunna, Rauch-Tower VFW Auxiliary

10:19 am

Independent Editor,

We would like to acknowledge and thank Blackmore-Rowe Agency of Byron, the Byron Chamber of Commerce, the Byron Masonic Lodge, Cub Scout Pack 88, Rauch-Tower VFW Auxiliary 5822, Thompson’s Rental and members of the Gaines and Byron communities for all their help in collecting food and monetary donations for the Christmas baskets this year.

We would like to express our enormous gratitude to the Cub Scouts for all the hard work they did hanging out door flyers, and collecting and storing food for this project. We couldn’t have done it without all your help. Thank you so very much.

This year was the last year that the Rauch-Tower VFW Auxiliary will be helping as our auxiliary and post had to close in December due to lack of participation and inability to get new members.

This does not mean the Christmas baskets won’t continue, however. Others in the Byron area, such as the Byron Chamber of Commerce, Blackmore-Rowe, the Cub Scouts and Thompson’s Rental, have offered to help next year and raise funds and collect food to keep the project going. This means that next year we can help more veterans and senior citizens at Christmas.

Thank you to everyone who helped, and God bless you all.
