Connie Lake, past president of Corunna VFW Post 4005 Auxiliary

10:50 am

Independent Editor,

I and many people were entertained by the great talents of all the performances at the Welcome Home Veterans Rock ’n’ Roll concert on August 25th at Wilbur Bills Elementary in Bancroft. I was disappointed to see that there were not as many supporters there, so I suggest that people who say they support the veterans, but were unable to attend, put their money where their mouth is. You can go to www.whvusa.org and donate.

With elections coming up in a couple of months, I think it would be fun to have a friendly competition. On the comment part after you donate, put Democratic, Green Party, Independent, Libertarian or Republican. The week before the elections, we can tally up the donations and see who really supports the veterans.

Those of us who were there and used a credit card to pay for entrance, t-shirts, etc. could go to the comment section and put, for example, Independent ($50). Many of the politicians say they support the veterans, yet I did not see all of them there at the concert. Actions speak louder than words.
