NEW SIGNAGE – The Durand VFW added a new five- by 30-foot sign to the front of their N. Saginaw Street facility on Tuesday, Aug. 25. VFW Commander Dennis Martin (far right), member Ken Miller (far left) were on-hand Tuesday morning to see the finished product, which was installed by Men’s Auxiliary President Dean Jones (“Farmer Born”) and his harvesting crew of Durand High School students: Brett Miller, Zack Powell and Dakota Wells. The sign took only two workdays to complete, and was bought from Signs by Law of Durand.

Martin is excited to have the new sign, which was needed after the original painted brick VFW logo began to chip and flake away. Along with the grand welcoming sign on the front of the building, the Ladies’ Auxiliary has also recently provided the building with new signs in the entrance to the front reception/banquet area. As always, it is a team effort at the Durand VFW. (Independent Photos/GRAHAM STURGEON)
