The Durand Lioness Club has announced this year’s candidates for the 2016 Durand Railroad Days Princess, which will be revealed at the crowning ceremony to be held at 7 p.m. on March 11 in the grand ballroom of Durand Union Station.

Genavieve (Genna) Bell is ten years old and attends Robert Kerr Elementary School. Genna is the daughter of Adam and Christy Bell of Durand, and is sponsored by Changes Barber Shop and Styling Salon in Durand.

Rebecca Gilbert is ten years old and is the daughter of Jaqueline Isaacson. She attends Durand Middle School and is sponsored by the Iron Horse Pub in Durand.

Marissa Harper of Lennon is nine years old and attends Robert Kerr School. She is the daughter of Daniel and Ashley Harper. Marissa’s sponsor is Monroe Point Shell in Durand.

Abigail Hart attends Robert Kerr. She is the daughter of Jeremy and Shannon Hart of Bancroft and is sponsored by Stomping Grounds in Durand.

Samantha Leydig is eight years old and is attending Robert Kerr. She is the daughter of Sam and Amy Leydig of Durand. Samantha’s sponsor is Shaw’s Pharmacy and Gifts in downtown Durand.

Kadence Tanner is seven years old and attends Robert Kerr. She is the daughter of Holly Newton of Durand and is sponsored by D-Railed Bar and Grill in Durand.

Jenna Wilburn is eight years old and attends Robert Kerr. She is the daughter of Andrew and Stacey Wilburn of Durand. Jenna is sponsored by Coffield Oil Marathon in Durand.

Kaydense Wilkinson is seven years old. She attends Robert Kerr and is the daughter of Mary Wilkinson of Durand. Kaydense is sponsored by Fringe Salon in Lennon.

Ava Williamson is the nine-year-old daughter of Sara Williamson-Shippritt of Durand. She attends Robert Kerr and is sponsored by Little Caesars Pizza in Durand.

Each contestant designs her own canister to collect votes at her sponsor’s place of business, with every penny collected counting as one vote. All money collected by this year’s contestants will benefit the local community and future Lioness projects.
