ON JULY 15, the Durand Post 2273 AmVets Riders hosted a poker run in benefit of the Child Abuse Prevention Council (CAPC). The poker run was a success, bringing in $1,200. There was a silent auction, food, and lots of great times had by all.

“A million thanks to this wonderful group for putting on an amazing fundraiser for us. We are beyond grateful,” says Ellen Lynch, executive director for the CAPC.

The CAPC is a place where children and families are assisted and provided with resources when there have been allegations of abuse. Counseling services, prevention resources, and other support services are provided to the families at no cost.

Shown during the check presentation are (from left) Kevin Lenkart, CAPC board treasurer; CAPC board members Kathy Burke, Mark Agnew, and Paul Pummill; Ted Smith, AmVets Riders Chapter 2273 president; CAPC board members Courtney Herrick, Charles Quick, Bobbie DeCamp, Alesha Miller, Nicole Greenway; and Ellen Lynch, CAPC Executive Director.
