THE DURAND MADRIGALS provided entertainment for families waiting to see Santa during Christmas at the Depot on Friday, Nov. 23. The group of Durand High School students set up in the Amtrak ticket lobby on the lower level of Durand Union Station, where the Christmas at the Depot experience begins. After listening to the Madrigals and snagging a Christmas cookie, children and their parents were then escorted to the Depot’s second level, where they listened to holiday stories read by Bart Harris and visited Santa in his elaborately decorated throne room.

After sharing their Christmas wishes with Santa, children then made their way back downstairs to make reindeer food in the Michigan Railroad History Museum. It was shared during Topics @ Twelve on Tuesday, Nov. 27 that more than 360 children enjoyed the Christmas at the Depot experience this year.
