APPROXIMATELY 175 runners and walkers participated in the Durand Color Run on Sunday, Sept. 24, despite record-setting high temperatures that reached into the 90s. The event was a fundraiser for the Bertha Neal and Robert Kerr PTAC groups. Participants were painted by Durand High School cross country team members at a number of points along the one-mile and 5K courses. Following the completion of the color run, the participants gathered in front of Robert Kerr Elementary, where they threw their remaining color packets into the air, creating a massive cloud of colored dust that covered anyone in the area, both runners and spectators.
