Durand will host the countywide Veterans Day Parade this year on Tuesday, Nov. 11.

The parade steps off from the Durand High School access drive at 7 p.m. and will proceed south on N. Saginaw Street.

The parade will march past the city’s new Veterans Memorial Park on its way down Saginaw Street before turning east on Main Street on its way through the adjoining neighborhood.

The parade will return to the Veterans Memorial Park via Mackinaw and Oakland streets for the concluding celebratory service. Line-up for the event will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the high school access drive.

The city’s Parks and Recreation Commission will team with the Reed-Raymond Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars to host the celebratory service at the Veterans Memorial Park, which will take place at the intersection of Saginaw, Oakland and Livingston streets. Volunteers have been working tirelessly to complete Phase II of the construction project of the park for the special holiday and the monument, walkway, flags and fencing are all in place for the event.
